Jack braced himself against the wave of memory – her expression when he’d pulled up her sleeve to reveal the scar on her wrist, the way he’d wanted to grab that flash of vulnerability, hold it tight so she couldn’t shut him out again. There are so many lines here that hit me and where I had to stop reading for a moment to take in the full extent of their awesomeness, and I'll quote them all once I finally get to my more in-depth review but this one almost made me cry because UGH I just love so much how no matter how hard she tries to stay contained, Jack is able to reach and connect to the vulnerable part of her and she can't shut him out and your writing just expresses that SO perfectly and in the most beautifully written way.
