WTB stands for Want To Buy - it's common in WOW for people to say in local or trade channel in chat "WTB [insert name of item here]" I don't know if it originated with WOW or not, though, because there were other MMO games like Everquest which predated it.

It's somewhat made it into the broader gamer culture lexicon, you can see it on forums sometimes as a sarcastic way of saying you wish for something currently unattainable.
