It's stunning how well you balance the sad intensity of their existence with a sort of breathtaking hope found when they finally connect.
Hooooooooly crap, you don't even know how delighted that sentence makes me, because it's exactly how I saw them in 8x17. So broken and lost in so many ways, but in a sense almost overwhelmed by the intensity of the connection they never meant to discover in the first place. They make my heart hurt, which is probably why I'll be writing fanfic about them long after everyone else has forgotten the show ever existed!
And if I did anything to make sense out of the wild swing between S7 and S8 Renee, that's great. I love her so much that I will never get over what the writers and producers decided to do to her. So I deal with it in fic:) Thank you so much for your lovely comments.
