JFC, I just deleted something like 75 icons on the way to a goal of 100. I'm trying to shake it up. I also have the most intense DTs you can even believe. This list from which I'm deleting has been culled SO MANY TIMES, down to the point where each one I erase is all, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."

But I'm still trying. *sobs*

I just realized that if I stick with my current plan, I will legit change like five of them EVER.

So I'm all . . . all or nothing. I saved them in a special folder so anytime I change my mind, BOOM, back they can go. LOL.

And no, of course I will never love anything like that ever again in my life, duh? But I did manage to erase at least a few of the kissing ones (quite a few for me, actually, but as I said upthread, I put everything in a special folder so I can have them back BAM if I want them). It's just that there is so much pretty out there and I want to shake it up a little. I've had so many of the same icons for almost two years now, so I'm working to branch out a touch -- grab a few BSG and HP icons, etc.

Also, I will probably ask dealan311 for another icon tutorial on the thing she does with . . . oh lord I don't even know what they're called. Textures maybe? And try to do that to a few things on my own. WHATEVER. It's a new year and stuff.

I deleted like....I think about 50-something just last night! I'm going through this with you - you're not alone, I promise! My icon package ran out and for all of three minutes I was like "Fuck it, I have 52 icons, I don't need - YES I DO! HOW CAN I EXPRESS MYSELF IN EVERY POST?! I have one with Raylan with a hat on, but what if he needs to be tipping the hat? Or what if Jack needs to be looking up, not down?"

And that did it. So I spent like $30 on signing on for automatic payments with 70 icons. I'm not regretting it. I raided icon communities until 1:30 last night and got out babies like this one. *G* I feel better for having done it, but I also saved all of them.

I have something like 20 more to go to reach my goal, and it's possible I won't make that, because deleting the Jack/Renee icons kills me all dead. But. I'm working on it in order to shake things up. I don't have the love for generic icons that most people do (although yours there is hilarious), but I do love icons that use color in ways I don't know how to.

But heck yeah, every last one I delete goes in a special folder so the second I miss it too much, BOOM back it goes:) I need to get a few more Justified!

Oh but also, hell YES to the needing just the right one. I always want icons that represent almost every emotion (it's why I have very few text icons for the total number). IT'S HARD.

I love the coloration in your icon. Is that Harry Potter? I'm attracted to color - I love brightness, and I love faded, so that's usually what draws me to stock icons. Other than that, I do like fandom-related icons the best. I know what you mean about the color that you don't know how to. I've looked at tutorials and stuff, but I guess I'm a little afraid of using that much color when I'm making my own. But they draw me in when I see them on someone else's page!

The best/cleanest ones for Justified I found last night were made by iloveimpala67. They had some nice screen caps. They're simple, just shots of whoever, but the coloration is nice and they're crisp. So many of the other ones I've seen are so damn grainy and I can't stand a grainy icon.

Yeah, it's HP. I don't participate in the fandom at all, but I have a crazy amount of love for the friendship between Harry, Hermione, and Ron. It's super strange for me to love it as much as I do, because usually if there isn't a ship I'm into (and I don't care about any of the HP ships) I don't care. But they're so awesome. And SNAPE. And McGonagall! Ahahaha. Sorry. /digression

I love icons with cool colors, too. And mostly I'm too lazy to learn how to make them. Half the time I'm too lazy to go and search for them, but I do plan to spend a few minutes every now and then checking out the comms to which Crys linked me yesterday.

Every now and then I'll put up with poor picture quality if I really like the text of an icon, but mostly I'm with you on the grainy. Some people are just so good at making it go away!

I do. Huge. But I also have had more or less the same 250 icons for at least a year now, and many of them for a lot longer than that, so I'm trying to juggle it up. It's not easy when you love icons as much as I do, and Jack/Renee icons in particular.

But Crys linked me to a bunch of amazing icon comms, so when I have time now, I'll be surfing around there for amazingness. And I can always put the old ones back if I get too sad! They're just waiting for me in their own specially marked folder.
