I think people are mistaken when they think that shows that thrive off of sexual tension can't survive once the chase is over, because it assumes that the chase holds all the excitement. Getting together is really only the beginning.
Oh, agreed 100%. I think I didn't make myself clear in my comment. More like, I don't think writers know how to handle this well for the most part. I haven't seen many situations in which it worked. This is one thing that I loved about Tony and Michelle -- they were together, but there were all sorts of other points of conflict and it just worked. I could be wrong (I'm mostly talking out of my ass here, because I have never seen Castle -- I just talk to people about it), but it seems riskier on Castle just because of the nature of the show. If they let Rick and Kate knock boots, they'll just have to be careful where they take the story from there. It CAN be done, no question.
