Okay wtf? I'm just responding to this. Geez! So much flail my brain doesn't even work. Anyway! Well, I'm just not gonna lie. I had SO MUCH FUN writing this and just letting the total smush carry me away and using Christmas as an excuse. Good times. I'm always trying to control the smush (and probably failing) when I'm writing "serious" stories, so this was such a welcome change, and I'm glad you still liked it:)
I had to sneak the Dick in a Box ref in there, because one of my other LJ friends kinda put me up to that. Not easy with Jack, but I tried!
Also, I've been wanting to write a scars story forever, and again like the bit with the handcuffs in "I'll dream that you're not left alone," I kind of had wound up doing an abbreviated version. I'm never going to not be obsessed with that scene in 7x16 (or all of 7x16 -- let's be real!) where she walks on on his with his shirt off, so this was my tiny nod to trying to work that out. I'm still obsessed with it.
Anyway babbling! Cinna, thank you so much for your comments. Without fail, they make me feel wonderful and believe it or not, they totally help me to have confidence that what I'm doing doesn't suck. This was kind of a Christmas present to myself, but I'm so glad if it made someone else's Christmas happier also!
*giggles* OMG also I have such a kink for Jack and Renee in bed together, even when they're not having sex. Do I ever NOT write that? I probably should have picked that as my year in fic theme. . .
