So I rewatched 24 7x01 last night. I had about 436782967893462896457289 feelings, most of which I won't bore anyone with. But it WAS so funny, after a long time of watching only bits and pieces of S8 (if anything), to see Renee all innocent and strutty, back before she knew she'd been repeatedly beat up and almost raped by a Russian freakshow;) It was so much fun that I got motivated to go and hunt up Kay's insanely amazing screencap recap.

And I laughed my ass off again:)

More tonight, hopefully. SHOW, WHY ARE YOU SO DAMN GOOD?

And then I realized that while I've asked you guys who watched 24 about your favorite season, I don't think I've ever asked about your favorite episode. And now I'm curious. If you had to pick one ep, which one would it be? Why?

Oh, and my favorite episode? Yikes? 7x24 I think.

I also love 6x01 even though it's so painful I can't watch it. That was the ep that made me love Bill with a deep love.

7x19 is SO GOOD. But I also adore 7x16 because it has the meepy Larry/Renee scene of love PLUS the puppy face when she realizes Jack's fer realz infected PLUS the thing with the scars. This thing:



For shippiness though, yeah 8x07 wins. Probably everybody would think 8x17 but they're only in it for five minutes:P

I don't know if I have just one favorite episode, but some of my favorites are 2x24, 7x16, 7x24, and 8x04. (Edit: I know you specifically said just one ep in bold, but I can't choose!!! I'll have to get back to you later :P)

Those recaps still make me cry laughing. N was reading them with me today and even though of course he's never seen the show, he thought they were awesome. We'll ignore the part where he lusts after Annie like a mofo, because I can't even deal with that crap.

I didn't choose a favorite either, did I, even after asking? I'm such a stooge. It's totally impossible for me to pick just one I think, although UGH, if like, they were all going to be taken from me forever and ever and I could just keep one, I think probably it would be 8x07.

Wow favorite episode is *hard* - seriously, so many episodes run into each other that it's more like favorite arcs. For some reason I cannot keep what happened in what hour straight in my head. It would help if they had more descriptive titles :)

I'm not sure what my favorite episode would be though as I have a soft spot for so many for different reasons. I'll always love season one finale as it breaks me. every time. and the pilot because everyone was so young and it's fun to see how the characters change through the season.

1 pm of season two with Jack and Nina interrogation was kind of my first real moment of seeing and getting into the show. And the finale because YAY reunion! And the gas attack of day five but that's just hard to rewatch and the finale of season four because eeee team and ep 3 of season seven because more eeeeeee team. Mary's gotten me to have a new appreciation for 4x08 aka lets hang out at Tony's house. Favorites are hard.

Heee I remember beta'ing a little those screen caps. The show just got WAY too depressing to recap that way real fast.

RIGHT? It's so hard to remember for me unless it's S7 or S8. Otherwise I think of it in story clumps, which doesn't help much.

The Jack/Nina interrogation was amazing. I remember watching that and realizing that I was holding my breath. I'm such a dork. Is 4x08 when they're at Tony's and he's all drinking beer and being pissy and watching soccer in Spanish? Because that was so funny!

Yeah I can't truly pick a favorite either -- it's more like, favorite for plot or favorite for amazing dialogue or amazing character development or favorite for shippiness or badassery . . . obviously the list goes on.

Those screencaps are so WIN. I never get tired of them. Whenever it's been a couple months and I haven't read them, I go back and mainline. 100% agreed that the show got way too depressing way too fast, but I would have loved it at least through 7x10. *sighs* Because you guys are awesome.

It's hard for me to remember unless it's from day one as days one and two are the seasons I've rewatched the most. Oh and three. I remember sequence of events but not exact times.

No, it's so amazing, his face when he sees her picture in Wald's safe room? It's just beyond words. Yes, that one, with Audrey resting on the couch with her beer and Tony's bartender/stripperdancer girlfriend.

It's hard for me to say that any one ep has more character development than another, I mean, way easier for me to point out episodes that didn't have enough development, enough characters I wanted to actually see, enough movement of plot, etc. And arcs. Way easier.

S1:1 is far and away my fav, because it's the only time we get to see truly Happy!Jack (discounting for the moment What Happened in Yugoslavia, because I think that was totally ret conned) and we get to see him balancing family life with being a total fucking badass when he chops off the guy's fingers to ID them. That moment was what made me sit up and say "Hello, what's this? Who is this guy?" because, back in the day, that was pretty edgy. Now it probably wouldn't even merit a PG-14 rating.

I also love the one in S2 where he says he's gonna fly the plane and Kate is all, "Woe, dude," and then he flies the plane and Mason's all "Woah, dude!" Which I realize is two eps, but they're a fantastic pair even if Kim is being attacked by the cougar. She makes up for it with her tearful goodbye.

Both of those hit all of my secret agent kink, when people think he's one thing and then he bumps it up to a whole new level.

Aw, S1 that I have never seen. I did see the first few minutes though, with the whole family setup and all those good things, and wow yeah, it's a long way from there to the end of S8, isn't it? And yet strangely back at the beginning with uh, no one. Heh. I'm sure that was crazytimes when it first started though, because 24 did a lot of things that are probably standard now on TV but certainly weren't then.

As for the rating, chyeah. The other day I went to pick S up from a playdate and his friends four-year-old little brother was watching The Mummy. Reminding me again that I have different standards than a lot of people. Yikes!

That scene with Jack and Kim. WAUGH. All the waugh. They make me sob every last time. You totally do have a secret agent kink though, don't you? I think that I do not particularly, although I love it when people reveal new qualities that we hadn't seen before.

Well there's honestly nothing in the caps in terms of violence, and I've told you before that I'm the flip side of most people on that one. The sex jokes N already gets anyway, so whatever. They're basically shipper recaps anyway, and N loves being "grownup" enough to pick up the jokes. It's also fun to see which pop culture references he gets. Because for example, he barely knows who Miley Cyrus IS.

I carried the Princess Bride and Batman jokes all the way through 7x08. It's too bad I can't find my S7 dvds and I don't have the eps on my hard drive anymore to make screencaps.

I did let him read the recaps! I'd say that the threesome stuff passed him by but it probably didn't, knowing him. However, it's all good! He found them riotously hilarious, with bonus Renee hotness and badassery.

*sobs* You should least send me the Word files so I can know what I'm missing. I had forgotten (again) how much I loved those damn things. I was rolling. And having a nostalgic moment because I so clearly remember E linking me and going, "Who is this crazy awesome girl who does these recaps? THEY'RE SO FUNNY; YOU HAVE TO GO SEE!"

And now, a funny story about the .gifs. So of course I'm instantly flailing. So I flail for a while and then notice that the second one is going really quickly (because I'm only looking at them in email). But then I pull up actual LJ and scroll down to the edited comment. And I got so lost watching the slow version of the second .gif that it took me like three minutes to notice you had said:
