I thought I should include an entry to indicate that most of the stuff in my journal is friends-locked and explain a little bit about that. Fic and some fannish stuff is the exception. A couple thoughts on why you may or may not want to friend me:

Things I hate:
Actual embodied evil from below the lowest rung of hell, Donald Trump
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and everyone like them. No, seriously. If you fangirl Ann Coulter, we are probably not a good LJ matchup.
The NRA
Republicans who want to sink Obama's legislation just to watch him fail
Intolerance
Nationalism
Fundamentalism
Materialism

Two things I love are reason and science. I don't claim to be very good at either, but I love it when they triumph over religion and pettiness. Can we have more of that please?

I'm not a pacifist. A nation should be able to defend itself. But world peace would be really, really, good.

In what way do you hate Nationalism? I have a healthy amount of Patriotism for Canada,is that the same?

I TRY not to be materialistic, but I do like stuff.

The Republicans are so easy to mock. The Senate is voting on the health care bill today. I totally don;t get why anyone who isn't an insurance executive wouldn't want universal health care.

And yes, Obama is still my hero.

I'm also with you on Materialism, although I have a soft spot for the Dialectical variety as a theory. Just as a theory though, because although I'm not religious, I refuse to believe that matter is all that matters.

First, let me say that I LOVE all your SVU stuff and I stumbled along "The Night Before Christmas" over at caviarandmeths and just fell ass over tea kettle in love with your Jack/Renee stuff.

So much so that I am re-watching Season 7 and looking for all the like J/R tings I didn't see when I first watched it. Obviously, I love Jack anyway, but now I love Renee...which, as you know, is very dangerous with this show. I'm crossing fingers that she survives for at least the first 12 hours.

Here's to hoping.

Oh, and I also wanted to say: You are the Jack/Renee fic God...we voted...you won.

I didn't read this post of yours entirely before I decided to friend you. So fail on me if you got my friend request thingy and was like "wtf...who is this person?" Lol, anyway.

What we might have in common? Aside from the fact that I think you're an effin brilliant writer, I love all things 24, too. And writing fanfic. And books and words. Such a lovely world of shiny, creative words and stories out there. Also, the Jack & Renee love/obsession thing? I feel ya there, for sure. They are constantly bouncing around in my head all day, those two. Love, love, love.

Intolerance might just be my biggest pet peeve. And though I consider myself a moderate...I lean more towards the right, but I'm enirely capable of respectful, intelligent debates.

I think you're the bomb. Really, I do. Several of my 2:30 AM reviews on your fics probably prove that. And I think we could be livejournal buds. I don't really post on mine...I just use it to comment on a couple communities that I watch, and of course, your fics. But yeah.

    A few things about me. I love English, but sadly I am not very good at it, so I'm just going to apologize now for any mistakes I have made or will in the future. I love writing and spend most of my free time doing so. I would comment on my hate for rush, but I'd probably end up writing you a novel instead of a comment. I love Jack/Renee and anything 24 :) I love Law and Order SVU, and thought I was going to marry Christopher Meloni through the early years of my life. I was depressed for about a week when Renee was killed, and my friend and I now refer to that event as the "unspeakable". Criminology interests me. When I watch tv and someone gets kidnapped or killed i always tell myself that I would never fall for that or I'd escape, when I know I would so end up getting my ass kicked, or I would escape and trip while running away. I have OCD moments and tendencies ( my dad refers to it as spastic OCD) 
I also hate materialism, although I probably love my laptop a little more than I should....
I also hate intolerance, I actaully have written several papers on the subject.
Also, I absolutely love your Jack/Renee fics! You capture them so perfectly!! I think that the producers of 24 should hire you and just put you in charge of all things Jack and Renee. Your fics are all that is getting me through 24 ending and the "unspeakable". I have actually written several J/R fics that are still in files on my laptop, needing to be finished. Two of my friends and I are actually working on a collab right now. I hope one day that I'll be able to write about them, and really capture them the way that you do. :)

The main things we have in common? Well, let me think. Off the bat, probably an unhealthy love of Keifer Sutherland and all things Jack/Renee (still :\ ). I absolutely adore your fic and highly respect not only your ability to write the way you do, but also the way your brain imagines and constructs new scenarios. "Not within your control," you say? Psh. Whatever. It's your brain and it's awesome, so I tip my hat in reverence. Or whatever the female version of "tipping one's hat" is.
Also.
I get a little too angrily and unacceptingly irritated at those who are unaccepting of others, which is ridiculously and self-defeatingly hypocritical, I know; but I'm equating this with your "hatred of intolerance" and other similar attitudes. Shit, that made no sense. *I hate intolerance, too.* There we go, that's better.
