ETA -- Two Things: 1) Hillary Clinton rocks. I just watched a half hour interview of her with Fareed Zakaria and almost cried. She's brilliant and articulate and intelligent and awesome and incapable of being ambushed and just! Ahem. 2) I will actually probably just answer the fives in a response, because I don't want to spam everybody if I do manage to get a challenge fic done here or there. Heh. Big if.

So I'm not the only one avoiding fic, huh? That makes me feel slightly less guilty. I just couldn't get in the zone tonight. Anyway! You picked some doozies. I'll give it a shot.

Top five things I'd like to see happen between Jack and Renee in S8.

1) Have sex make out in a well-lit space conducive to massive icon creation.
2) Choose to trust each other when all the evidence suggests it's a bad idea.
3) Have multiple moments of Team Awesomeness, where they kick ass together, just the two of them.
4) Have at least one moment from each of them where they completely freak out about the other's well being.
5) See each of them genuinely smile (preferably at each other;), even if it's just one time.

And my brain is getting fuzzy! So I'll think on the songs. That's even harder, but fun:)

OMG PERFECT!!! I'm speechless. That list is made of awesome. Especially the "massive icon creation" part. I've been trying to make new season 7 icons, but unfortunately there are very few usable frames of the two of them together. That must be corrected in season 8! :)

My brain is getting fuzzy too, trying to picture all that goodness. :D

Dude I am completely flipping out at how few times they're both in the frame. And it's even more rare to have them looking at each other. All the eye sex happens when they're bouncing back and forth, and while that's super fun to watch onscreen, it doesn't make for good icons! GAH. It's driving me nutty, especially now that I'm slowly (very slowly) learning to use photoshop a bit more.

Dude I am completely flipping out at how few times they're both in the frame. And it's even more rare to have them looking at each other.
I know, what's up with that?? Was the cameraman not a shipper? I love the eye sex, but can't it be shot in one frame? I also hate the fact that they spent so many episodes apart. The phone calls were nice, but I don't want them in season 8. No, they need to be together ALL THE TIME.

It's driving me nutty, especially now that I'm slowly (very slowly) learning to use photoshop a bit more.

I think it's the only frame of them together in the entire episode (or even until ep. 16), but it's too dark and I can't make it work. :/

Wow harsh shadows. Yeah. Well I'm gonna mess with this later tonight just for fun, because I'm having such a blast doing horrible things with photoshop because I have no clue what I'm doing. But as much as I Love Larry, we definitely have to get HIM out of there;)

Ooh! I'd love to have the links. I tend to kind of hit the work on PS when I have spare moments, and I totally suck. But I did have fun picking a slightly different screencap from the same scene and I came up with this icon. I'm so goofy:) I still haven't even learned to chop them out perfectly, but I'm improving. Very very slowly. Some of the stuff you can do on there totally blows my mind.

Ooooo I like that icon!! And the text. :) And I think it's very well cropped! It's difficult to create an exact square, I usually crop far too wide and then have to chop the sides.

Here are some great tutorials I've used. Some of them are a lot of work and pretty scary at first, but I learned so much from trying them out, about layers, lighting, coloring etc. :)

Holy crap just looking at those fraks my brain. However, they look super helpful, so thank you very much for linking me up. I haven't tried anything that in depth in terms of actually playing with color numbers, etc. At the moment, I have what's more or less PS lite -- it's called Photoshop Elements. So I'm not sure how the tutorials would relate to that program. I'm definitely going to check it out in more depth when I get back from vacation though. One of the things I love about PS is how you can brighten a picture, taking it from barely visible to highly cool-looking. However, the tutorial people obviously know how to do this much better than I do!

You're very welcome. :) I haven't tried PS Elements, but I think these tutorials can be helpful even if you don't follow them exactly.

I know! I'm always amazed at what you can achieve with that program. I wish I was as skilled and creative as the tutorial people. Maybe if I have enough good caps to practice on next year... ;)

Okay! My top five favorite songs at the moment. That is HARD, because I'm a complete music addict. But here goes:

1) The Pearl -- Emmylou Harris. Because it's just my favorite song ever of all time.
2) Blue Rodeo w/ Sarah McLachlan -- What Is This Love. I go in fits of obsession with this one.
3) Dido -- See the Sun. I'm embarrassed that I listen to this, but yeah.
4) Syntax -- Pride. I can't stop listening to this at the moment. It will pass, but right now. . .
5) Rickie Lee Jones -- Running From Mercy

Yeah, I'm a music addict, too. XD I'll go through periods of time where I'm obsessed with a certain group of songs at a time, and then I'll move on to another bunch...but then there are some songs that I'm always obsessed with, no matter what.

Word to #4! :D That's on my list, too. And #1 is so pretty. I don't know the other three, though- maybe I'll look those up. ^^ I don't think I've actually heard anything by Sarah McLachlan (that I know of) which is weird because I feel like she's one of those singers that everyone knows. >.>

1) Read the rest of The Wizard of Oz with S, even though I hate that book.
2) Organize all the clothes in the huge closest in the guest bedroom (are you sensing my desperation?)
3) Write all three challenge fics I haven't started yet, and maybe even get started on the longer one I'm itching to do.
4) Mainline all the Jack/Renee parts of S7 in order to write your squashfic more in character. And you know. Because they're hot.
5) Drink margaritas with my hubby and mainline like five more eps of Chuck.

It IS you. And you'd have to choose like, the hardest top five ever. GAH. But here goes.

1) XF -- Mulder waking up in the hospital in DeadAlive (I'm picking this one as representative of the X-Files, because I could pick so many flaily scenes from that show we'd be here until the end of time.)
2) 24 -- The entire final Jack/Renee conversation in 7x24 when Jack touches Renee's face and holds her hand
3) 24 -- Is it cheating to say all of 7x19? Because no really I flailed harder through that ep than anything the entire season.
4) Thirtysomething -- No clue what the name of the ep is, but the one where Elliot and Nancy get back together and dance to Stevie Nicks (yeah nobody but me has a clue what I'm talking about here)
5) SVU -- Warehouse scene in "Fault." I'm gonna have a moment of honesty here and remember how important to me it was when I WAS in love with it. I don't wanna know how many times I've seen that ep.
